PACES Nonprofit Dominican Republic Project
As project photographer and strategic consultant for PACES Worldwide, YIN Studio documented the transformative work of Dellanira, a visionary educator who abandoned her career as a mathematician to establish a vital educational lifeline in the Dominican Republic.
Our team captured the remarkable story of this grassroots initiative during PACES' inaugural retreat to the Dominican Republic. Through our lens, we revealed how Dellanira transformed an abandoned building into a thriving school that now provides free education to local children despite severely limited resources.
The photography showcased not only the physical space—built entirely from donated materials and guided by online lesson plans—but also the profound community impact. Our images documented parents traveling 30-45 minutes each way to provide their children access to this safe, affordable learning environment, allowing them to work and improve their family circumstances.
YIN's strategic documentation helped PACES effectively communicate this inspiring narrative of resourcefulness and dedication, highlighting how one determined individual created educational opportunities where none existed before. The joy visible on children's faces as they engaged in learning became powerful visual evidence of the program's success and the transformative power of grassroots educational initiatives.
